They went with Mike and his boys in the Mom mobile.  I bought Rob a “dad camera” so he didn’t have to take the mom camera.  It did well for what I paid for it.

All in all I think they had a great weekend. 

Chelsea and I went to D’s softball game on Saturday and it was windy.  I had fun meeting her friends and got some great shots:

Dancing over a ground ball. . . She did great caught two pop balls and had fun.

The girls spent most of Sunday at the mall, looking for dresses for Military Ball.  It was  . . . A day at the mall with 3 teenage girls. 

Rob and I went to our first night at Exploring Christianity.  It is a 10 week course on the book of Mark.  We are in a great group and it will be fantastic.

The Edwards Came

We had Panda Express and friends and family and a good time was had by all. 

Well except maybe Arlea, who when flipped up over Ike’s shoulder, hit her nose on his back and may have broke it.

 John Cena is one of the “heroes” that I don’t mind J watching. Heck I don’t mind watching him myself.

With the WWE coming to our town, Rob has been taking J to the Arena to watch the action. I haven’t had to go. (One of the benefits of being the mom.) They are coming again in February.  Only John Cena is coming this time.  I won’t lie.  I have thought about going,  just to see this fine piece of eye candy, yes it would be worth the price of admission. 

But I have found that I can buy a much less pricy ticket to see the man I would say “I would marry in a different life.”  Only my son wants to BE John Cena in his different life and well, that would be just akward.

Movies anyone? 

J wants to go, but it wouldn’t be right for and eight-year-old boy to have his mom drool in his popcorn.

He was in Pullman when I called.  How he didn’t get a ticket in Colfax remains one of lifes unsolved mysteries.

My back started hurting while we were laying there and they informed me that I was infact having back labor again but they were going to stop it.  With every contraction Jason’s heart rate would drop.  My Dr came in and said they had scheduled the C-Section for 8.  If I go any sooner the on call Dr would have to deliver anyway.  So she took her son to dinner for his birthday, then was going to come back and we would “celebrate my son’s birthday”.

I remember laying on the operation table asking Rob “What are they doing?”  “He started going and going on and on, when the very nice man next to Rob started saying “NO! NO! NO! We have that curtain up for a reason!”  They took Jason out, Rob left me and I woke up a few hours later.

Chelsea loved having a baby brother.

And Rob . . well:

Now here I sit 8 years later.  I took off early from work, went and bought cupcakes.  Headed over to his classroom and hung out for the last hour of school.  We came home, grabbed his derby car and took him over to Brian and Christi’s so he could take it to inspection.  I took D to run some various errands including going up to get her state ID, twice and it still didn’t happen.  We then went to J’s basketball practice. Afterwards we went to Chili’s and had dinner. 

This weekend at his request we will have pizza.

Yep!  That’s my baby!

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

We had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner Thurday and played Bingo afterward. 

The girls went to Twlight on Friday.  We went to Teresa’s.  Hung out and had some down time.

Mary, Joanne and I went to Australia on Saturday. . .

We came home on Sunday.  It was a good time with the family.

I finished working on the Holiday Party.  We had a great time last night and now it is time to focus on Christmas around here. 

Well just a short little update for you.  Not too interesting . .

My Sister-in-Law took them up to Manito to get some photos.  (She is continually trying to update her portfolio.) She is an amazing photographer. Go see Paper Horses.

While she braved the streets with 4 teenagers in her car, my astounding co-worker came to help turn the Ballard house into  Chateau de’ la Ballard:

We started with a Cesear Salad, then followed it up with Chicken Picatta and Alfredo Sauce, with a side of Roasted Rosemary Red Potatoes:

Then for the Grande Finale Kim brought her “Fantasy Cake”

We hung out in the kitchen and let them be teens.   Jason came in and made himself some macoroni and cheese and finished off the sparkling cider:

We finished about 6:45 which would have been perfect if the dance started at 7pm like I thought, but no I was, get this I was wrong!  The dance began at 8pm. So they had an hour to kill before it started.

So we took pics:

They went and had a great time and I got to learn what an amazing co-worker I truly do have!

Let me set the stage:

My little man had lost another tooth Tuesday at school.  Tuesdays are uber busy for me and I didn’t find out about it until Wednesday.  He forgot to put the tooth under his pillow.  We all agreed that he would do it last night.  I didn’t feel well yesterday afternoon.  I went home put on my PJ’s, made spagetti and just hung out.  When the girls got home from Youth Group, D took T, and I promptly got ready for bed.  I had two $1 in my pocket and forgot to discuss what need to be done with Rob.  So I hung my jeans over the side of the tub with the bills sticking out.

I got up this morning, made sandwiches, took a shower and came back up stairs to see my two $1 still in my back pocket and thought this can’t be good.  I stuck them in the pocket of my robe, walked into Jason’s room to find he is sitting up in his bed, he has two $1 in his hand, steam  coming out of his ears and Rob is sitting on the futon, looking like the cat that ate the canary.

And although I don’t remember it all exactly it goes something like:

Jason was upset that his dad was “playing games”. Playing games? Yep.  Playing games.  In Jason’s words, Dad took the money out of my pocket put them under his pillow and stole his tooth. 

I quickly pull the two $1 from my robe pocket to show him that I still have my money, but to no avail.  He believes that I originally had $4 in my pocket and his dad had ripped his mom off by taking the money from her pocket. 

He also is very upset because when he got up at 2:05 am to use the potty he found the $2.00, no problem right, exept when he gets to the bathroom, he finds the tooth – still in its container – sitting on the edge of the sink.  He puts the $2.00 in my jean pocket, with the other $2.00 and puts his tooth back under his pillow.

Rob goes to the bathroom this morning, sees $4.00 in my jeans pocket, takes $2.00 and goes to “see if the tooth fairy came”.  Thinking that he is all smooth like, he drops the $2.00 under the pillow and picks up the tooth.  Acting all suave he informs Jason that the tooth fairy did come and all is well. 

WRONG! He is promptly called out for “playing games!”

While dad was busy doing this, according to Jason, it appearently did not give the tooth fairy a chance to get in there and leave him the $5 he believes the tooth fairy will leave him.  Now if I am seven and I believe the tooth fairy will leave me $5 and I catch my dad leaving me $2, well I would be steaming mad too!

This is were I had come in just as Jason was telling Rob that he “knew what he was up too and he wasn’t going to ge away with it!”

We gave Jason his tooth back and let him know that dad didn’t mean any harm, he thought he was helping the tooth fairy and that it wouldn’t happen again.

This is why I urge you to never, ever play games with the tooth fairy.
